For several years Juvenal lived as a Franciscan monk in a remote Brazilian monastery providing aid to those in need. His stigmata first manifested during this time, and he describes healing a disabled boy of his condition through touch. "Juvenal" is his Franciscan name and even though he's since left the order, it's still what he prefers to go by. These days he can be found working at the Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center. He genuinely cares about those in his charge, often following up on former members to see how they're doing.
He's able to sense even unseen ailments through physical contact with someone, and when his stigmata appears — five bleeding wounds — he's shown to be capable of healing anything from broken bones to terminal illnesses. Despite this inexplicable and seemingly miraculous ability, he remains humble, never seeking to use it for his own gain. He's trusting to a fault, choosing to believe the best of people even when they might not have his own best interests at heart, manipulating or otherwise using him. He possesses an inherently calm nature, and is somewhat reserved but amiable with friends and strangers alike. In general, he's content simply helping people and doing what he can to make their lives a little easier.
